Janine Larsen, UUC’s Director of Ministries, will be ordained as a Zen Buddhist priest by James Myoun Ford, Roshi. A reception will follow in Nathan Johnson Hall. Members of the congregation are invited to attend.

Janine has practiced Zen Buddhism as a UU for about 20 years, and leads weekly Zen Meditation & Study groups at UUC and the Woodinville UU Church. Before joining UUC staff in 2016, Janine served the Unitarian Universalist Association for 12 years as the Pacific Northwest District Executive and on the Pacific Western Region staff. She joined Rev. Jon Luopa in the pulpit on Sunday, December 1, to explore inter-religious identity and practice.

Janine will be ordained by the Rev. James Ford, who is a UU minister as well as a senior Zen priest (roshi). Rev. Ford is the guest speaker at UUC for both Sunday services on December 8, after leading a multi-day Zen “commuter retreat” at UUC during the prior week.
