Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
Sunday, January 27, 11:30 a.m. in Meadowbrook room 23
Please join UUC’s chapter of UUs for Justice in the Middle East for a presentation by Dr. Alice Rothchild, a physician, author, activist and filmmaker who has written and lectured extensively on many topics, including the health and human rights effects of the Israeli occupation of Palestine. In her presentation she will take us on a personal journey:
- exploring the realities on the ground based on her work in Israel/Palestine in 2015 and 2017.
- sharing her research and personal stories about her contacts with physicians, students and human rights workers living in the politically marginalized communities in Gaza.
- providing eyewitness reports depicting the painful consequences of Zionism in a region suffering from decades-old wounds of colonization and occupation.
Dr. Rothchild recently retired from clinical medicine, previously she held the position of Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology in the Faculty of Medicine at Harvard University. Her books and documentary film will be available.
