UUC July 1st Potluck, Music and Parade

UUC’s first time at our interim Sunday home at Meadowbrook Community Center will be July 1, 10:00 a.m. – Noon. Come  celebrate Interdependence Day and share a Red, White and Bluegrass Potluck Fun-day Brunch!

You’re also invited to join a sidewalk parade down 35th from the Church to Meadowbrook. Gather in the Memorial Garden at 9:30. Parking is available in the church parking lot. You may wish to drop off your potluck dish at Meadowbrook first.

What to wear: For the sidewalk parade and the potluck, costumes and banners are welcome! UUC or other UU-messaged t-shirts are great, as is apparel and flags of other countries, symbols of world peace and interdependence. (One UUC member was particularly glad of the opportunity to lift up the importance of interdependence these days, noting that July 1 is also Canada Day.) Be comfortable, have fun, proclaim your values within this interdependent web of which we are all part.

What to bring: A brunch dish to share (extra points for red, white and/or blue food), table games (e.g. board games), and your own dishware, cups and utensils if you’d rather not use compostables. Please bring your potluck item pre-cut and with serving spoon and platter/ bowl you’ll take back home with you. Be sure to label your serving pieces! Leftovers go home with you or become compost.

UUC will provide: Coffee, tea and compostable plates, bowls, cups, utensils and live music by The Mighty Dreadful String Band.
