Sunday Worship Services
We hold two Sunday services from early September to early June, at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM. During the summer months, there is one service at 9:30 AM. Please see the church-wide calendar for details of upcoming services.
Just before services, parents are often busy taking children to their church school classes, members greeting newcomers and old friends, please feel free to drop in to Nathan Johnson Hall for a quick coffee and chat.
A beautiful bell rings in the beginning of the service, and we light the chalice – a symbol of the Unitarian Universalist faith. We share readings, prayer and meditation, announcements, sermons, lay testaments, and more.
Services are filled with music—hymns sung by the congregation and music by the Loft Choir, Intergenerational Choir, or Handbell Choir from September through May. The church often rings with vocal or instrumental solos, accompanied by piano or organ.
Monthly art exhibits feature local established and emerging artists in the church’s Gilmartin Gallery and the chapel.
After the service, most people gather in Nathan Johnson Hall to talk to one another and enjoy coffee, tea or hot chocolate and a snack during coffee hour. If you are new to UUC, or would like to deepen your involvement in the community, please stop by the Get Connected Table during coffee hour, and introduce yourself. We would love to introduce you to other people and/or give you information about things you are interested in.
Religious Education for Children and Youth
From mid-September to June, church school and infant/toddler care are in full swing. During the summer, we offer multi-age children’s classes and activities and childcare for infants and toddlers. You can read more about the church school, including the curricula, activities, and programs, at Religious Education.
