Alice Arrington

Job Title: 
Treasurer

Alice Arrington has been an active Unitarian Universalist for the past 40 years. She retired in 1999 as the director of a Girls Inc. affiliate in Huntsville, Alabama. She and her husband moved to Seattle to care for his elderly mother, to be near their daughter Holly, and to live in the most beautiful part of the country. At UUC, Alice has served on the finance committee, led the pledge drive in 2004-2005, traveled on the pilgrimage to Transylvania in '06, attended programs at Seabeck, and been an active member of the UUCare ministries and its various iterations.


Brenna Willott

Brenna Willott has been a member of UUC since December 2001. Her mother was in Liberal Religious Youth at UUC in the 1950s. As Brenna grew up, the two of them made regular treks from Bainbridge Island to come to Sunday services at this church. While at Whitman College, Brenna was active in the campus UU group. Currently, she is involved in the YAM (Young Adult Ministry) Committee, and is also a co-leader of the young adult group that meets at UUC. Work takes her to Tukwila, where she is employed in the marketing department of Gaco Western Inc., a roof and deck coatings company.


Byron Krystad

Job Title: 
Vice President

Byron Krystad and his wife, Heather Mundell, joined UUC in 2002. After twelve years at Microsoft, he left in 2003 to write poetry and help care for their daughters, Maggie and Charlotte, while Heather focused on her new business. A regular at 9:30 services, Byron looks forward to using his experience as a leader in a private corporation to serve an organization as important to his family and the Seattle community as UUC.


Carolyn Rasch

Carolyn Rasch joined UUC around 1978. She had been visiting sporadically with her husband, Al, since 1969. In addition to doing kitchen duty for various functions, she has served previously on the board of trustees and spent several years as the chair of the personnel committee, both during Peter Raible's ministry. More recently, she chaired the search committee for the assistant minister and is now on Alicia Grace's Committee on Ministry. She recently joined the group that is working on the enhancement of the newcomer's corner and the greeters' area, and is involved with the evaluation of the progress on goals set at the 2004 Fall Leadership Retreat.


Ed Belcher

Ed Belcher started attending University Unitarian in February 2006, and became a member with his wife, Pam, shortly thereafter. While a member at Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church, Ed taught religious education, facilitated an adult evening group, co-led a pledge drive, and performed exit interviews with members who are no longer active. A board membership allows Ed to learn about the intricacies of our church and thereby better serve UUC.


Jonathan Schachter

Jonathan Schachter and his wife Lisa have been members of UUC for about 12 years. He values UUC for its qualities as a loving and supportive community. With a strong interest in governance, policy, and planning, Jonathan is looking forward to contributing his experience and enthusiasm to these areas of board work. He also serves on the board of the Pomegranate Center, a nonprofit community design and development organization that helps communities use their unique gifts to become more vibrant and humane. A former attorney, Jonathan now works as a residential realtor with Lake & Company. He enjoys cooking as a relaxing and creative activity.


Ken Mundt

Job Title: 
President

Ken Mundt has an MA in Communications and is currently the Director of Development and Communications at New Futures, a community-based organization that works to break the cycle of poverty for children and families. He has served UUC in a variety of roles, including chair of the Children and Youth Programs (CYP) Committee, Coming of Age mentor, Worship Associate, and chair of the Stewardship Committee.


Laura Matson

Job Title: 
Secretary

Laura Matson is a native Seattleite and part of a strong UU lineage. Her parents, the late Donna and Don Matson, were longtime, much beloved members and leaders at UUC. She attended the University of Washington in political science and marine studies, but ended up becoming a fabric artist. One of her specialties is shibori, the ancient Japanese art of binding and dyeing silk to create unique textures and patterns.

She appreciates the loving support of this congregation and her covenant group, and she finds nourishment through her work on the steering committee of the Habitat for Humanity team. She is looking forward to working with the "big picture" at UUC as a member of the board of trustees.


Laura Sager

Laura Sager is living a life of joyful play and occasional tears, raising three little girls, Lily, Adelle and Autumn, with her husband, Eric. At UUC, she works with the children and youth program, sings in the loft choir and participates in various ad hoc groups. She hopes to bring a broad view to the board and considered, incisive action to its projects.


Stacy Waddell Carlson

Stacy Waddell Carlson has been a member of UUC since the early 1990s. She has enjoyed many adult education classes, a women's affinity group, serving as an usher on Sundays, and attending Seabeck. Stacy taught in the church school for three years and plans to continue volunteering.


Virginia Stout

Job Title: 
Moderator

Virginia joined UUC in the mid-1970s. She has taught several classes, facilitated and coordinated covenant groups, and serves on the UUC Care Ministry Team. In 2006, Virginia went to Romania on the UUC Pilgrimage. She is a life design consultant and before retirement, she worked as a research chemist for the NOAA Fisheries Lab.
