Leadership Development Committee

Anne Eacker

Anne Eacker and her husband Eric came to UUC two and a half years ago, in search of a spiritual community. They've been showing up “religiously” ever since! Anne's UUC activities include being a greeter, a covenant group member, and an enthusiastic participant and co-leader of Team UUC, the women who train together for triathlons. Her other hats are that of mom to twin almost-8-year-old boys, physician at the University of Washington, and medical director at the UW's internal medicine clinic.

Barbara Alexander

Barbara Alexander sees service on the leadership development committee as an opportunity to network, observe, and help develop the strengths and interests of UUC members. She is a long-time member of UUC and has a deep interest in UUC's pastoral care ministry. She is a Co-Chair of the UUCare Team, working closely with Alicia Grace, and welcomes contact from members who have Care concerns. Other involvement has included singing in the loft choir, teaching in the church school, and being a mentor in the Coming-of-Age program. Barbara values UUC for the intellectual stimulation and spiritual growth she experiences as a member.

Cal Van Zee

Cal Van Zee and his wife, Judith Wood, are thirteen-year members of UUC, having joined when their daughters, Audrey and Virginia, were one year old, and their son William was three. All three children attended church school and "graduated" from the Our Whole Lives and Coming of Age programs. Cal is serving his second year on the leadership development committee and is chair. He taught sixth-grade Sunday school for three years, sang in the Intergenerational Choir, participated as a member of the pledge drive for four years, served three years on the finance committee, and is currently in his third year on the investment committee. Away from church and family, he is a project manager in the information systems department of Expeditors International of Washington.

Jack Latteman

Job Title:
Secretary

Jack Latteman is a relative newcomer to University Unitarian. He joined formally in February 2005, after six or seven years of occasionally attending the Sunday Impact Forum. The leadership development committee represents a new adventure for Jack, and he's finding out how he can best contribute. Jack looks forward to adding his energies and interest to the collective effort. In his professional life, he is the lead planner in the Service Planning Group of King County Metro.

Judith Leconte

Judith Leconte became a member of University Unitarian in March 2004. Her activities with the church include: coffee crew, economic justice group, Green Sanctuary recycle group, and frequent participation in the Wednesday meditation group. Judith is semi-retired from a career as a public health social worker in maternal-child health with the University of Washington and the Washington State Department of Health. She is currently building TBA Consulting Group. Her interests are social justice, being green, kayaking, hiking, reading, Tai Chi, and mediation.

Sally Davis

Sally Davis is a long-time member of UUC and has served in many ways over the past 25 years. She served two terms on the board of trustees, once in the 1970s and once in the ‘90s. Sally was on the nominating committee, before it was expanded into the leadership development committee. Retired from the University of Washington, where she was an administrator in Continuing Education, she has also served on the adult religious education committee, the bookshop committee, the intern committee, and the long-range planning committee.

Zoë Myers

Zoë Myers joined University Unitarian in the spring of 2003, and six months later was a part of the search committee that called the Reverend Alicia Grace. Zoë coordinated Alicia’s installation and continues to serve on her committee on ministry. She co-chaired the Sound of the Future task force, which recommended strategies to achieve full funding for the music program. After serving as pulpit host, coffee crew member, greeter, and usher, Zoë became usher coordinator in January 2007. In March, she co-hosted the annual talent show as one of the three Boa Sisters. A member of Team UUC, she is now training for her second triathlon. Professionally, Zoë is the development director for New Beginnings, a nonprofit organization that serves survivors of domestic violence. She also sings with the Seattle Labor Chorus and volunteers with greyhound rescue groups.
