Laura Matson is a native Seattleite and part of a strong UU lineage. Her parents, the late Donna and Don Matson, were longtime, much beloved members and leaders at UUC. She attended the University of Washington in political science and marine studies, but ended up becoming a fabric artist. One of her specialties is shibori, the ancient Japanese art of binding and dyeing silk to create unique textures and patterns.
She appreciates the loving support of this congregation and her covenant group, and she finds nourishment through her work on the steering committee of the Habitat for Humanity team. She is looking forward to working with the "big picture" at UUC as a member of the board of trustees.
