Pastoral care is an essential and central ministry of University Unitarian Church.
Under the leadership of our minister, Rev. Dr. Alicia Grace, we are volunteers who accompany members and friends through life's transitions and challenges by offering confidential support and care.
From welcoming a newborn child into a family, to walking with those in grief, the UUCare team supports individuals and groups alike. They offer tangible assistance—meals, professional referrals, and hospital visits—and act as a caring, listening presence.
By offering compassion, care, and connection, UUCare ministries seek to reach out to those in need and strengthen our bonds of humanity and hope. The mission of the UU Care Ministry is to provide confidential, compassionate and emotional support to members of our UUC community. We are a specially trained group of members who assist the Ministers in providing the pastoral needs of our congregation. By doing so, we seek to strengthen our bonds of humanity and hope. If you, your family, or another member are experiencing illness, hardship, isolation, or are in crisis or in need of support, let us know the best way and time to contact you. You may call the Care Team on our confidential 24-hour message line at (206) 525-8400, extension 22. A member of the Care Team will be available to answer messages left on the Care Line every week.
In addition to offering direct care to members and their families, the UUCare ministries sponsor and support the following groups:
