We hold two Sunday services from mid-September to June, at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM. During the summer months, there is one service at 10:00 AM. Please see the Home Page for details of upcoming services.

Just before the services is a busy and fun time – parents taking children to their church school classes, members greeting newcomers and old friends, many gathering in Nathan Johnson Hall for a quick coffee and chat.

A beautiful bell rings in the beginning of the service, and we light the chalice – a symbol of the Unitarian Universalist faith. We share readings, prayer and meditation, announcements, sermons, lay testaments, and more.

Services are filled with music—hymns sung by the congregation and perhaps a performance by the Loft Choir, Intergenerational Choir, or Handbell Choir. The church often rings with vocal solos, accompanied by piano or organ.

Monthly art exhibits feature local established and emerging artists in the church's Gilmartin Gallery and the chapel.

After the service, church members, friends, and visitors gather in Nathan Johnson Hall for fellowship during coffee hour.

Lifespan Religious Education for Children and Youth

From mid-September to June, church school and infant/toddler care are in full swing. During the summer, we offer children's activities and childcare, but no formal curriculum. Special Services

Evening Contemplative Services

Are you longing for stillness? Looking for a gentle way to enter into community? Imagine sitting quietly with others in a large circle in our softly lit chapel, with a single lit candle in our midst.

From mid-September through May, we offer an Evening Contemplative Service in our chapel on most alternate Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You can take the half hour from 6:30 to 7:00 for personal quietness/meditation/candle-lighting in the chapel, and then from 7:00 - 7:30 PM, participate in a simple service of communal contemplation led by members of our congregation. All are welcome! Please check the church calendar to confirm dates of upcoming services.

Music Sundays

Twice yearly, once in the spring and again in the fall, our Music program presents a large choral work with orchestra and guest musicians. Watch bulletins and announcements from the church during the year for details.

Christmas services

UUC offers services in recognition of Christmas that are special occasions for adults and children.

• Family Christmas Eve service with children's readings, followed by a brief reception
• Candlelight Christmas Eve services late in the evening

Maundy Thursday

This is a special service that we offer in the week prior to Easter, with communion and quiet reflection.

Spring services led by youth

• Our high school youth lead a service that includes music and often a clever and eye-opening activity, as well as the wisdom of youth.
• The Coming-of-Age ceremony is a surprising and inspiring service led by youth returning from their retreat.

Flower communion in late spring

Everyone brings a flower to share. We honor our graduates, dedicate our children, and thank our church school teachers. It’s a busy and fun-filled service!
