Funds for the Future

University Unitarian Church has been strengthened for nearly a century by special gifts – bequests and other planned gifts – given by its members and friends. These gifts, held and growing in our Funds for the Future, provide support for existing programs, foster new initiatives, and enable us to be responsible stewards of our ministries and properties in the future.

Those who make the decision to support the church’s Funds for the Future are warmly invited to join Camilla’s Circle, a special group for planned giving donors. This group was established to memorialize Camilla Knatvold’s legacy to the Unitarian Universalist movement and to honor those who follow her example in their own ways.

UUC’s current family of funds represents the generous gifts of many members - past and present. You may designate a gift to any of the following funds:

Endowment Fund

The heart of UUC’s Funds for the Future, this fund is a traditional endowment in which the principal will be preserved in perpetuity. Interest accrued may be allocated to any church expense, including operating expenses.

Program Fund

You can specify bequests or gifts to benefit this fund, which helps support programs such as music or children and youth.

Social Justice Program Fund

Established in 2006 at the celebration of Reverend Jon Luopa’s 25th anniversary in the ministry, this fund was seeded by the generous gifts of our congregation. The fund will support the work of staff and the coordination of action in pursuit of our social justice endeavors.

Peter S. Raible Capital Fund

The Raible Fund was established to memorialize UUC’s former senior minister of 30 years, Peter S. Raible. The fund provides for capital maintenance of and enhancements to our physical structures, including the Raible Memorial Garden. The Raible Fund also paid for the recent seismic upgrade.

Camilla M. Knatvold Trust Fund

Established in 1969 to fund special initiatives, this fund’s principal shall be preserved.

Leaving a Legacy...

All options carry with them a certain degree of complexity. We recommend that donors speak with their attorneys or financial advisors when planning their gifts.

There are many creative ways to leave a legacy to UUC, including direct gifts, bequests, charitable remainder trusts, and many others. Please contact the business manager [0] or one of the ministers [0] for more information about how to include University Unitarian Church in your estate plans.
