Memorial Garden

The Peter Spilman Raible Memorial Garden at University Unitarian Church is a beautiful courtyard located near the entrance to the building. Grey stone paths are softened with moss, and wooden benches offer views of the fountain and lovely plantings. Quiet and contemplative, it is a welcome place to visit or gather together with friends and family.

Meeting the challenge of UUC's former minister, Peter S. Raible, members raised $150,000 in new capital to design and build this peaceful place of meditation and love. The garden was envisioned as a setting for the memorial services of members and long-time friends. It was formally dedicated April 30, 2006.

Members, friends, and their immediate family members are eligible to have their cremains interred in the garden. During an interment service, the ashes are mingled in a common underground vault, and a bronze plaque bearing the name of the deceased may be placed on the garden wall. Please contact one of the ministers or the office staff to discuss arrangements.
