The UUC Art Committee invites both emerging and established artists to bring their “hang-able” art to a screening for selection of artists for 1 month exhibits in 2010 and 2011. The screening will be held on Saturday, March 27. Artists may drop off art at 8:30 AM; pick up begins at at 1:00 PM.

Before you say, “My work isn’t religious,” know this: almost all the art we have featured in our forty years of shows has been secular in content. In addition to traditional subject matter (still life, landscapes, nature themes, abstract art, and so on), the UUC Art Committee is interested in conceptual art forms that express ideas, a point of view, or a commentary on society and issues of the day.

We seek art representing a variety of cultural traditions. Art should be appropriate for mixed age audiences in a space used for meetings, church services, weddings, funerals, concerts, and other large group events. We seek a wide variety of art forms, including drawing, painting, prints, photography, mixed media and collage, assemblage, bas relief and fiber art. We can accept only works of art that can be hung on the wall; no reproductions.
