The heart of membership at University Unitarian Church can be found in involvement. We encourage all members to explore the current slate of activities and discover where they might find additional bonds within the congregation at UUC.
The heart of involvement at UUC can be found in leadership. The groups and programs at our church thrive in the hands of capable and caring leaders, members and staff alike. There are many resources for leaders at UUC, and we've gathered a few essential tools here for current and future leaders, to help them in their essential work.
UUC is a learning and growing community, and we have much to offer each other as we find our way. Please don't hesitate to share ideas or questions with our ministers and staff.
If you have a new idea, please check our Quick-Start Guide to Getting Things Done at UUC. This guide offers specific direction for sharing and acting upon your ideas most effectively within the organization.
Do you have a proposal for a new project or group? The Self-Discernment Exercise is an essential step to take before committing your time and that of others. This exercise will help you achieve success, whether you learn something new during the discovery phase, realize that you have more flexibility about what success looks like, or find similar efforts that can be joined, combining — rather than duplicating — resources.
To ensure that your proposal for a new group or project is evaluated as effectively as possible by the appropriate members of the church staff, please use the Application for Project form. You may either fill out this Word document online and send it in email to churchoffice@uuchurch.org, or print the PDF version of the form to fill out by hand and submit to the church office.
Groups are encouraged to use the following guideline documents as appropriate, to help them carry out their work and oversee events at UUC with our shared "best practices" in mind.
UUC is blessed with many skilled and experienced leaders who offer their wealth of knowledge to the teams in which they participate. Many of those leaders have recommended the following resources, offered by our own Jennifer Bright (Social Justice Coordinator). They are provided here for the benefit of all teams at our church.
