Everyone is invited to a reception for our August artists, Ann Heideman and Teresa Burrelsman, today from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
Ann Heideman's oil paintings of the natural world emphasize edges more than surfaces and primary colors over earth tones. She is interested in how we interpret pattern to find the interconnection among objects, and her paintings of rivers and gardens attempt to address that issue. Teresa Burrelsman uses pastels and collage in her still-life series of vases, bottles, and other everyday objects.
Her calm, dream-like images highlight shape, color, and light to help the viewer experience the contemplative feeling that the artist strives for in the act of creation. Refreshments will be served at the reception, and art work will be for sale. A portion of each sale benefits the church.
