This class will acquaint persons with the founding and developing beliefs of Unitarians and Universalists. Particular attention will be given to their history in the United States since the late 1700s. The course may serve as a panorama of beliefs in which individuals may find both grounding and encouragement for their own personal religious/spiritual core. Learning about the historical development of these two faith traditions may also induce a sense of appreciation about the accomplishments and current challenges of Unitarian Universalism.

UUC has been developing our culture of listening as part of our community organizing work. Since last year’s Listening Campaign, our world has changed immensely. We have more worries, and new hope for change. What’s happening in our lives? How are we called to respond to what’s going on, in our congregation and the world? Come be in conversation, Saturday April 18, 3:00-5:30, followed by potluck. April 23                UU Humanists Meeting
Why Religious Humanism? Unitarian Humanists are identified as religious rather than secular.  Gloria Hariharan, leader of the Eastside Atheist/Agnostic Meetup Group will discuss this topic and talk about the contributions of Felix Adler to the Humanist movement in the United States.  This program was rescheduled from March.  All are invited to join us in the Knatvold Room at 7:00 pm.

This class will introduce meditation through a series of meditations and discussions. The emphasis will be the role of meditation in stress relief and spiritual practice. This committee of the Board of Trustee meets in a monthly advisory session with the Business Manager to establish and review personnel procedures, staffing levels, and job descriptions.  They review salary recommendations to be taken to the Finance Committee for consideration for annual budgets.  If grievances are lodged by staff or volunteers, the Committee would review these for compliance with policy and procedure.

Join in the ritual of a potluck dinner. Bring food and drinks to share. We'll learn about various rituals that we've experienced in our own families, share ideas for new rituals, and create some of our own. Come to all or one session. All types, sizes and ages of families are welcome - even if you are "just one person."

Child care will be provided for the younger children who want to play and/or relax after the ritual of "dinner with the family."

Join Annie Luopa and Alicia Grace for an overnight retreat of reflection and renewal. The focus of the second annual Women's Retreat will be an exploration of sacred connections. Together we will cultivate awareness, staying open to what is life giving and life enhancing for us as women. We will join together in shared silence, laughter, creative expression and guided meditation.

Using Quaranic quotes, saying of the prophet Muhammad, teching stories and Rumi poetry, Jamal will focus in the first session on the basics of Islam. In the next session, he will talk about issues within Islam, including status of women, jihad, extremism and awkward verses inthe Quran. The third session will concentrate on the resources of spiritual direction in the Quran.

Jamal Rahman is a Muslim Sufi minister at Interfaith Community Church and adjunct faculty at Seattle University. He is the author of The Fragrance of Faith and co-author of Out of Darkness into Light.
