Today: Torah and the Wild

This is a journey, by way of slides, to some of our speaker's favorite wild places in Washington. It is also a journey in the Torah of his Jewish tradition, and of other holy texts.

 

Barak Gale is a faith-based environmental activist, focusing on wilderness and climate changes issues. He serves as Vice-President of the Board of the Washington Wilderness Coalition.

Franz Schubert's "Mass in G Major" for choir, soloists and orchestra at the 9:30 and 11:15 am services. Arrive early for a good seat!

On the first Sunday of each month, meet the artists whose work will be hangng in the Chapel and the Narthex that month. All artwork is for sale, and a portion of each sale benefits UUC.

 Come one, come all to a reception for our May artists on Sunday, May
4 from 5 to 7 pm. Ellen Rutledge uses a variety of print techniques,
including dry point, photo etch, mezzotint and chine colle.  Images
of texts, maps and original drawings showcase the beauty of common
objects.  Lin La Mer’s still life paintings use the color turquoise
to bring forth a warm and comforting past and a bright, cheerful
future. Refreshments will be served.  Artwork is for sale; a portion
of each sale benefits the church.
