Zen Fall Book Study

Cover of Radical Dharma: Talking Race, Love, and Liberation

The UUC Zen Meditation and Study Group will engage the book Radical Dharma: Talking Race, Love and Liberation this fall. The group meets on Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon. The first half of the time is devoted to silent meditation, and the second half to discussion.

Co-authors Rev. angel Kyodo williams, Lama Rod Owens, and Jasmin Saydullah, Ph.D., describe the book in this way: “Igniting a long-overdue dialogue about how the legacy of racial injustice and white supremacy plays out in society at large and Buddhist communities in particular, this urgent call to action outlines a new dharma that takes into account the ways that racism and privilege prevent our collective awakening.”

Bring the book if you have it; a copy will be on hand for shared reading practice. There is no expectation of reading outside the group’s weekly gatherings.
