Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility
Tuesday, April 30, noon at the Sheraton Grand Hotel
Each spring the Alliance for Gun Responsibility hosts a luncheon fundraiser to support their efforts to improve gun responsibility in our state, and each spring UUC has sponsored a table or two at the event. This year the UUC Gun Responsibility Group is organizing another UUC presence.
The fundraiser will be held at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, 1400 6th Ave in downtown Seattle. As usual, the lunch is free, but everyone is encouraged to make a donation. All funds raised will help continue our quest for gun responsibility–to our legislators, to the general public and at the ballot box.
The speakers will be Fred Guttenberg, whose 14-year-old daughter Jaime was killed in the Parkland, Florida shooting in 2018, and Dr. Joseph Sakran, the trauma surgeon and gun violence survivor who founded the Twitter account @ThisIsOurLane in response to the NRA’s tweeting physicians to “Stay in their lane” on gun policy. That tweet backfired spectacularly, inspiring thousands of medical professionals to advocate for commonsense gun violence prevention policies.
It is, of course, their lane, and it’s also ours. That’s why we hope you’ll join us at the UUC-sponsored tables this year.
To RSVP, go to https://secure.gunresponsibility.org/page/s/2019-luncheon and list Susan Eggers as your table captain. Alternatively, you can RSVP by email to Isabel@wagunresponsibility.org. Questions? Contact Susan Eggers.
Thanks very much, and we hope to see you at the AGR fundraiser!
