This Sunday, August 11 we will recognize Education Program Coordinator Justin Almeida for his service to University Unitarian Church. Justin’s last day on staff is August 15, 2019.

This summer, Justin will complete his Master of Divinity coursework at Seattle University. He will begin working as a chaplain at the Veteran’s Administration in September, fulfilling his long vocational dream of chaplaincy. Justin is also pursuing ministerial fellowship through the Unitarian Universalist Association. Justin will remain an active member of University Unitarian Church, and plans to teach Wellspring and youth group beginning in the fall.

All of us at University Unitarian Church are grateful for Justin’s work in religious education. Justin is a bold, collaborative leader, who serves our children and youth with whole-hearted presence and spiritual sensitivity. Let’s celebrate his achievements this Sunday with a ritual during worship, and treats during coffee hour.

Director of Religious Education Melody Moberg is restructuring the second religious education staff role after Justin’s departure. Melody will continue to direct programs for children and youth at University Unitarian Church. Melody will be the primary contact for 6th-12th grade programs. Aria Curtis will join our staff on August 16 as Elementary Program Coordinator, facilitating programs for Sprouts through 5th grade.
