2019 Ware Lecture – Richard Blanco

Richard Blanco

Friday, June 21, 7 p.m. potluck, 7:30 p.m. lecture at ESUC

East Shore Unitarian Church is inviting University Unitarian members and friends to come to a potluck on June 21 to listen to this year’s Ware Lecture, live from the UUA General Assembly.

Join us in Spring Hall on Saturday, June 21, as we live-stream Richard Blanco. Selected by President Obama as the fifth inaugural poet in U.S. History, Richard Blanco is the youngest and the first Latino, immigrant, and gay person to serve in such a role. His three collections of poetry include City of a Hundred Fires, Directions to The Beach of the Dead, and Looking for The Gulf Motel.

The potluck starts at 7 p.m.; the lecture will start at 7:30, with a discussion afterward. Please bring a dish to share. Bring family and friends with you! (Childcare will not be provided.)
