Temporary Office Space Announcement
Dear Members and Friends:
Here is a little more information about what next year is going to look like for us…
As you know, we will start meeting at the Meadowbrook Community Center (10517 35th Ave NE) just down the street from us on Sundays this summer. We will soon post a schedule of what that will look like. It will be a mix of worship services and social gatherings.
We have secured temporary office space, also on 35th Ave NE, but in the other direction. Just behind the Seattle Sunshine Company at 5508 35th Ave. NE there is a suite of offices we have rented. You go through the coffee shop to enter the office suite. Signs will direct you. Street parking. This office complex is smaller than the one we have now, so the staff will need to be creative about sharing office space and working from home. This location, though, gives us the opportunity to keep an eye on construction at UUC.
We are in the final stages of securing rehearsal space for all of our choirs. Once this is confirmed, we will let you know where it is. I can tell you, though, that it is in the neighborhood!
We have started the process of helping all church program groups secure meeting space for next year. We are encouraging, as much as it is practical, for groups to meet in members’ homes. This will help us keep rental costs down but in the case where a group cannot meet in a member’s home we will assist in finding appropriate space.
Our last service in the building will be on June 17. After that date the building will be near emptied out. It will start looking that way in May. We will soon post ways in which members can help us ‘pack up the building’ and prepare for the move.
