Rev. Beth Preaching on August 12
10-11 a.m. at the Meadowbrook Community Center
“On Sunday, August 12th, I will be sharing some of the story of the action I participated in at the site of the construction of the youth jail that led to my arrest this past spring. I will speak to some of my learnings then and since as related to the particular issue of youth incarceration, but the main focus that I am imagining will be focused on the discernment process to a bolder “yes” when it comes to living our values-the stories, relationships, influences that embolden anyone of us to taking larger risks (whatever that might look like) to put our values into action. The sermon will definitely be influenced by Dr. King’s ‘Letter from Birmingham Jail’and the spiritual notion of vocation.” ~Rev. Beth
Music: Dave Bukey, tenor, our Offertory soloist, will be singing
“Little Star” by Modest Mussorgsky, in memory of Lori Blythe. Dwight Beckmeyer will also be playing.
