Urgent Action: Stop Deportation of Arturo Hernandez
A message from UUA Pacific Western Regional staff:
We have learned that Arturo Hernandez (pictured with family at right), who was in sanctuary at First Unitarian Society in Denver for 10 months before being released with an agreement with ICE (Immigrations and Customs Enforcement) that he would not be detained or deported, has been picked up by ICE at his workplace.
Unitarian Universalists across the region are encouraged to contact Jeffrey Lynch, ICE “Enforcement and Removal Operations” field office director for Denver at Jeffrey.email@example.com or 720-875-2050 and ask him to follow through on the agreement he previously made and to immediately release Arturo.
Please also keep the congregational leadership of the Unitarian Universalist Denver-area congregations as well as all the leaders of the Metro Denver Sanctuary Coalition in your thoughts and prayers.
Yours in faith,
Rev. Dr. James Kubal-Komoto, PWR Regional Lead
