Exploring UU Classes in February & April
Ready to learn more about Unitarian Universalism? Considering membership at UUC? Our “Exploring UU” course is for you! Two opportunities are coming up, and registration is open now.
This course is held quarterly to help welcome those new to the church, and to offer a guide along the path of discernment about committing to membership at UUC. In community with others, you’ll learn about Unitarian Universalism and UUC from leaders in the church and explore your own religious identity and values.
In February, the course takes place over four consecutive Sundays during the first worship service. Childcare is available during the class and again during the second worship service so parents can attend church. ! Minimum enrollment: 6 people
February 4: Theology and Worship
February 11: UU Roots
February 18: Care and Justice Ministries
February 25: Governance & Stewardship
In April, the four-part course is condensed to two session held on consecutive Saturdays, April 7 and 14, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Childcare is available if reserved by March 29.
This class meets the education requirement for UUC membership, but becoming a member at UUC is on your own timeline. We encourage you to experience the church broadly, attending services on Sundays, participating in some small group activities, joining a social justice event, volunteering as a greeter, usher, with the church school or in some other role that fits your interest and schedule. When you have considered your role as a steward of the church for those who will come long after you, becoming a member can happen any time. You don’t have to wait for a special date or ceremony.
