Alliance for Gun Responsibility’s Annual Fundraiser

The Alliance for Gun Responsibility is our statewide organization that has spearheaded both initiative-driven and legislative reforms that have helped keep guns out of dangerous hands in the state of Washington.  They successfully petitioned and passed Initiatives 594 (which requires background checks for all gun sales) and 1491 (which enabled families to have guns temporarily taken away from unstable family members) and have also lobbied our legislature for bills passed there.  All this is enabled by your volunteering and the funds raised at their annual fundraiser.

This year’s fundraiser luncheon will be held on Tuesday, May 30, at noon in the Westin Hotel.  In past years UUC has hosted two tables at the lunch (which is free) and we’d like to do so again.  You can sign up for the lunch on the Alliance website, gunresponsibility.org.  Please specify that your table captain is Susan Eggers, so we can all sit together.  Starting May 14 you can also sign up at an information table after after each service.

From the Alliance for Gun Responsibility, 4/21/17: The Washington State Senate just unanimously passed the Law Enforcement and Victim Safety bill! “This caps off the most substantive session for gun responsibility bills in recent memory and would not have been possible without our gun responsibility champions in state government, broad coalition and partner support and the unprecedented public activism we’ve seen in Olympia and across the state,” said Renée Hopkins, CEO of the Alliance for Gun Responsibility.
